Natural Ways to Stop Armpit Sweat and Stay Confident

How to Stop Armpit Sweat Naturally

Do you constantly worry about the unsightly sweat stains and visible patches under your arms? It's common to feel less confident and anxious when dealing with armpit sweat. However, rest assured that you're not alone in facing this issue.

Why do my armpits sweat?

Firstly, let's understand
why your armpit sweat.

Your body has two types of sweat glands: eccrine and apocrine. The apocrine glands, located in the armpits, are responsible for most of the sweat production. These glands produce fatty sweat that remains in the tubule walls. Factors like weather, hormones, or certain foods can trigger the contraction and release of sweat from these glands.

How Do I Stop Underarm Sweat?

Use antiperspirant

Apply antiperspirant on dry skin after showering at night. Antiperspirants temporarily reduce sweating by blocking the sweat ducts using aluminum salts.

Shave your armpits

Hair can hold moisture which will worsen armpit sweat. While most men shave to avoid looking like Chewbacca, many men shave for hygiene reasons. With lesser hair, you can reduce armpit sweat buildup. You can choose to shave them off entirely, or trim them. We recommend trimming yours with an electric trimmer to avoid mishaps.

Stay away from food that causes sweat

They say “food is the way to a man’s heart”, and in this case... your underarms. Food like garlic, onion, spicy dishes and high fat content ingredients will force your body to detox through the release of urine and sweat. Opting for cleaner food with lower fiber will drastically improve your sweaty situation.

Staying hydrated

Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body cool and reduce sweating (doctors recommend at least 2L a day). Consuming foods with high water content can also help.

Limiting caffeinated beverages

While it may be a staple in our day to day lives, caffeine stimulates the nervous system and can contribute to increased sweating. Minimise your consumption of caffeinated beverages to help reduce sweat production.

It's important to note that excessive underarm sweating could be a symptom of hyperhidrosis disorder. If you experience excessive sweating all over your body, it is advisable to consult a doctor for a thorough evaluation.
